Vintage Chinese Apothecary Cabinet – Mid Century Herb Medicine Chest with Labeled Drawers, Asian Chinoiserie Storage Cabinet

This vintage apothecary-style cabinet was inspired by traditional Chinese herbal medicine chests used in historic pharmacies. Each drawer is labeled with Chinese characters referencing medicinal herbs and ingredients once stored inside.

Dating to the mid-20th century (approximately 1950–1970) and made in Korea, the cabinet features beautiful traditional details including a flared winged cornice top, rounded pillar posts, and rows of small drawers with brass ring pulls.

The lower cabinet doors feature decorative brass hardware and a fish-shaped lock plate, a symbol of prosperity in Chinese culture. The original key and tassel are included.

Pieces like this are beloved by designers because they bring both character and function to a space. It works beautifully in an entryway, dining room, office, or living room as a statement storage piece.
