Vintage Federal Eagle Convex Gilt Wood Frame Mirror – Made in the USA
Couldn't load pickup availability
This striking Federal Revival-style mirror blends early American symbolism with timeless charm. Crafted in the 1940s by White Seid Products of Baltimore, it features a solid wood frame with raised decorative details—a proud eagle, scrolling acanthus leaves, and 13 wooden spheres representing the original U.S. colonies. The eagle and foliage are made of gesso, giving the piece rich texture and dimension.
At the center is its original convex “bullseye” glass—a curved mirror once used to reflect candlelight and widen the view of a room. It gives a softly panoramic effect, catching light beautifully and adding visual depth. Highly sought after by collectors and decorators, convex mirrors are becoming increasingly hard to find—especially in this condition.
We’ve repapered the back for a clean finish while preserving the original maker’s label, which has been reattached. The piece is fully wired and ready to hang—perfect over a mantel, in a hallway, or as part of a classic gallery wall.
